Meet Amanda Busch

Amanda Busch is an LPC Associate who joined the team in August of 2022. Amanda graduated from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor with a Master of Arts in Clinical Counseling Psychology. She loves to travel with her husband and 2 children in her free time. She has worked with offenders at the McLennan County Jail and interned at the MHMR Crisis Center in Waco as well as play therapy in private practice.

Amanda’s primary modality for therapy and helping her clients is Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy. In REBT, clients work towards identifying negative thoughts and irrational beliefs that then lead to emotional or behavioral issues.

The way we think and the beliefs we have taken on about ourselves and the world impact our lives daily. Learning to challenge those negative thoughts and breakdown belief patterns learned through life circumstances or trauma response can be a difficult practice to put in place. This is where working with Amanda will make the biggest difference. She is a firm believer in overcome it or become it. You will see this often in her counseling style.

Awareness and acknowledgement are the best way to overcome and see personal growth. Working together to process those life circumstances that have made you who you are is a great way to build acceptance and awareness.

While her goal is to challenge and push you towards gaining insight to become your true authentic self, her office space and our work will remain a safe, encouraging and stable environment to do so.

Putting in the work and going through therapy can be challenging, but also rewarding as you and those around you see the growth from within.
