Meet Scott Pasnik

Scott Pasnik, Licensed Professional Counselor

Scott Pasnik is an LPC-Supervisor and a transplant from Chicago. He earned his Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology Counseling Practice from Roosevelt University in 2015. Scott has worked in hospital settings, community mental health, and in private practice. Scott uses the ACT approach which stands for acceptance and commitment therapy. Typically, clients come to therapy to get rid of their uncomfortable feelings and emotions. With ACT, the goal is not to reduce, change, avoid, suppress or control, but instead reduce the impact and influence of unwanted thoughts and feelings through the effective use of mindfulness. ACT is a values based therapy, that works to incorporate our values into the way we live, work and relate to others. Scott also likes to incorporate humor into his therapy practice, so expect a few dad jokes…he has plenty of them. When he’s not seeing clients, Scott likes to be outside, hang out with his daughter, travel, read and go to the lake.
